This is a brand new house built on a tricky hillside site, overlooking the river valley, in Bude.  We were involve right from the beginning including giving advice on the purchase of the site. The architechs "Carol design"  had a brief to build a super efficient house using readily available materials to a strict budget.  The initial site preparation included the building of a 95 metre retaining wall to make it possible to level the site. The house is super insulated and takes advantage of solar gain and Tessla power storage. In the first 12 months of its life the house managed to be 96% off grid with its energy usage.
